Traditionally the weed eradication category took a generic approach: one product kills all weeds. In this context, Weed Weapon sat at no. 3 in the market. However, for gardeners weeds present specific and persistent problems. With this in mind, Weed Weapon’s competitive platform was changed to address a range of weed problems. This idea was carried through product formulations, packaging, and communication. Based on the idea “Weed Weapon kills the weeds other brands can’t” it grew from no. 3 to no. 1 in the market.
